Those planning to purchase Blue Bucks should plan ahead this month, as the online purchase system is not currently available.
Blue Bucks are the University of Michigan currency. Unlike their counterpart "Dining Dollars", Blue Bucks can be used almost any place on campus. This includes Residential dining halls, shops and cafes, union eateries, university hospitals, concession stands, vending machines across campus, campus copiers and printers and residence hall laundry facilities among others. Blue Bucks come with most meal plans and may be purchased at any point over the course of the year.
Students can usually purchase Blue Bucks 24/7 on the Housing Business Services website or have it be billed to a student account, but not this month. Due to an online banking problem students may not use any electronic means to acquire more Blue Bucks. The only way to purchase them is to bring a check or cash to University Unions retail store. This includes operations such as MoJo's Victors, Markley's Hideaway or South Quad's ConXion. Blue Bucks may also be purchased via cash or check at 100 Student Activities Building (in the basement) or B430 Pierpont Commons.
Online systems are expected to be down at least through the month of November but there are no guarantees about when they will be up and running again. Housing continues to express "apologies for the inconvenience".
Information on Blue Bucks can be found at http://www.myplan.housing.umich.edu/
