In a disappointing turn of events, the Wolverines lost again today to little brother Michigan State. Hopes were held high as Michigan led at the half 27-25 and those hopes remained as the battle raged in the second half. Neither team was able to establish a two digit lead.
Things took a turn for the worst with 3.5 seconds left in the game. Michigan State guard Kalin Lucas made a jump shot for two. This bought the score from 56-55 Michigan to 56-57 Michigan State. DeShawn Sims attempted to save the day with an alley-oop at 1.5 seconds left, but the alley-oop became an alley-oops as the ball fell off the rim, not into the basket.
The big story of the night was that guard Manny Harris did play, but did not start. Harris was suspended from the previous game against Purdue for an "incident" during practice. Beilien and the Wolverines remain tight lipped as to the specifics of the incident, but fans should be relieved to hear that starting tonight, the team is back to full strength.
